Earth & Sky ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by Josh & Lindsey Wise and is based in the United States. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your information. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control your data.

What We Collect

When you use Earth & Sky, we may collect the following information:

• Account information: Your name and email address when you create an account.
• Journal entries: Text you write in the journaling feature. Journal entries are encrypted and stored securely. You choose whether to keep entries local-only on your device or opt into cloud backup.
• Meditation session data: Information about which meditations you've listened to, session duration, and completion status.
• Mood tracking data: Mood entries and context you provide through the journaling and mood tracking features.
• Usage analytics: Anonymized data about how you interact with the app (e.g., which features you use, session frequency). We use this to improve the app experience.
• Subscription information: Payment and subscription status, managed through RevenueCat. We do not store your payment card details directly.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the Earth & Sky app and its features.
• To authenticate your account and manage your subscription.
• To sync your data across devices (if you opt into cloud backup).
• To power the Crystal AI companion feature, which uses the Anthropic Claude API to process conversations. Your conversations with Crystal are sent to Anthropic for processing but are not stored or used for training by Anthropic.
• To improve the app based on anonymized usage patterns.
• To communicate with you about your account or important updates.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Earth & Sky:

• Supabase: Our backend infrastructure and authentication provider. Your account data, encrypted journal entries (if you opt into cloud sync), and app data are stored on Supabase servers.
• RevenueCat: Manages subscription purchases and billing. RevenueCat processes your subscription transactions but does not have access to your app content or journal entries.
• Anthropic (Claude API): Powers the Crystal AI companion. Conversation data is sent to Anthropic for real-time processing only. Anthropic does not store your conversations or use them for model training.

What We Do Not Do

• We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
• We do not share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.
• We do not read your journal entries. They are encrypted, and only you can access them.
• We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.

Journal Privacy

Your journal entries are private. They are encrypted at rest and in transit. You have full control over where your entries are stored:

• Local-only: Entries stay on your device and are never sent to our servers.
• Cloud backup: If you opt in, entries are encrypted and synced to Supabase so you can access them across devices. Even with cloud backup enabled, entries remain encrypted and inaccessible to us.

Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app. When you delete your account:

• Your account information, journal entries, session data, and all other personal data are permanently deleted from our servers.
• This action is irreversible.
• Locally stored data on your device can be removed by uninstalling the app.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encryption of journal entries at rest and in transit, secure authentication through Supabase, and following industry-standard practices for data handling. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

Children's Privacy

Earth & Sky is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
